This module explores what cultural identity means, why diversity is a strength (not an issue), what intercultural dialogue really is, and how we can develop the skills needed to engage in it. Participants will learn how cultural differences can become bridges rather than walls.

Glossary

Bias
A tendency to have a certain perspective or feeling about something or someone, often unfair or based on stereotypes.

Cultural Diversity
The presence of many different cultural groups within a community or society.

Cultural Empathy
The ability to understand and appreciate someone else’s cultural background and feelings.

Cultural Intelligence
The skill to understand, respect, and work well with people from different cultures.

Inclusion
Making sure everyone feels welcome and can participate fully, no matter their background.

Openness
Willingness to listen, learn, and sometimes change your own views when encountering new ideas.

Prejudice
An unfair opinion formed without enough knowledge about a person or group.

Stereotype
A fixed, simplified idea about a group that may not be true.
